Why did a new tab open by itself?

That is the session tab. Focusfy opens it when a phase ends so you always see the next action:

• Focus ended → the tab offers Start break.
• Break ended → the tab offers Start focusing.

The same tab is reused for the whole cycle, so it will not open a new one every time. If you close it, the next phase end opens a fresh one.

Why did my browser window come to the front?

When a phase ends, Focusfy brings the session tab (and its window) to the front so you notice it even if you were working in another application. Some operating systems prevent apps from stealing focus from a full-screen application — in that case the tab is still there waiting for you.

Why can I not see the countdown?

The remaining minutes are shown on the toolbar icon (as a badge), not inside the popup only. If the badge is empty, no session is running. While focusing it is green; during a break it is gray; when the focus time is up it shows a red 0.

Why do I hear a sound?

Focusfy plays a short sound when the phase changes. You can turn it off in Settings with the Phase transition sounds toggle.

The sound is enabled but I hear nothing

• Sound only plays from the session tab, so make sure the session tab is open.
• Check that the Phase transition sounds toggle is on in Settings.
• Check that your system or Chrome tab is not muted.
• Note that browsers only allow audio after you have interacted with the page; the sound starts working after you click an action (for example Start focusing).

My pet did not change

Pets are chosen in Settings. After selecting Cat or Dog, click Save settings — the preview updates immediately and every page uses your choice.

My settings did not stick

Click Save settings after changing anything. Settings are stored locally and survive browser restarts; if a value looks unchanged, reopen the settings page and check again.

A session I stopped did not appear in Statistics

Only focus sessions that run to the end are recorded. Stopping early, or starting a break on your own, does not count as a completed session.

Does Focusfy collect my data?

No. Everything — settings, the current session, and your per-day history — is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. There is no account, no analytics, and no network access.

Where is my history stored?

In Chrome's local extension storage for Focusfy. History from older versions is read automatically, so nothing is lost when the extension updates.

Still stuck?

Reload the extension from chrome://extensions (click the refresh icon on Focusfy) and try again. If the problem persists, check the extension's console for errors and report the issue with the details.
